
Unrelated to user activity we have had some weird hickups performance-wise sometimes. Page being unreachable for a few minutes and then running smoothly again. We have located at least one issue who had an influence into this and it has been solved. Hopefully we will see this a lot less now.

The International Club Competitions (ICCs) have now been laid out, PMs sent, matches planned and bonuses paid. Also, the division 1 league tables are now updated with the no. of spots given out in next season\'s ICCs.
A bug prevented me from running the update yesterday, but that is now found and killed - and it was related to the interesting fact that no club of division 3 or higher won a national cup anywhere in TM last season(!). Nor was any cup runner-ups of less than division 3 deleted. Seems the cup is now more \"realistic\" than ever before ;)
[b]A Few Changes[/b]
So, for the first time in noone knows how long I actually announce a little change in TM:
- Bonuses for entering the ICCs have gone up to 60mTM$ for CL-style tourneys and 15mTM$ for the lesser tourneys. We plan on further increasing these bonuses in the years to come.

After listening to feedback regarding quick matches these things will change.
1) Everyone on tm will get 1 quick match free per week.
2) New teams with trial will be limited to 2 quick matches per day.
3) A refund will be given to teams who get match cancelled because of too few players.
This will be implemented this week.

Welcome to season 19 everyone.
As usual, there\'s a few remaining issues. We\'ve solved several problems during the process that will help future SUs but, once again, we\'re opening with a few \'details\' remaining:
- Player stats is generating as we speak. It will be available shortly making player profiles etc will look correct.
- Historical matches will start generating after that, making the head-to-head feature and trophy cabinets work correctly again.
- A few clubs, including some former b teams, that should have been deleted wasn\'t. This is a complex and boring story, but basically I\'ve opted for caution.

A lot of big changes have been made in season 18: The new match engine has been implemented alongside custom formations and a brand new nifty line-up selector, loads of small bugs have been eliminated throughout the course of the season and today we are officially launching a brand new \'quick match\' feature, allowing instant friendlies for only a few Pro days! As if that wasn\'t enough we have also got an immensely improved AJAX transfer list coming up in season 19.
However, while all this new stuff takes us a big step forward, we are by no means through with TM: The implementation of the new match engine took us down a long, bumpy road littered with small-to-medium bugs and amidst the season our performance issues reappeared as TM once again rocketed to new traffic heights.
Now, finally, we have the match engine back in shape and a solid plan to avoid performance issues. Long story short we expect a much smoother season 19! We think a little compensation is in order due to the inconsistency this season, and we have decided to hand out 5 TM Pro days to all non-Pro members and 10 TM Pro days to all Pro-members. We sincerely hope everyone has a blast when we open the site for season 19 on Monday and that out troubles are now dead and gone.

I have finished up the new user guide. A lot of new entries has been added and all the looooooong entries which were completely misplaces has been moved and edited so it all makes a bit more sense now. Hopefully it will be a lot easier to browse now!
Final step is to divide them into categories, but this will not be done right now.

Comments on changes/ideas are of course welcome as always...

This season we are experiencing the biggest drop of managers in the TM History. I just want to bring a little details to this to clarify a few things.
1) Last season we lost a bit of the clubs logs (log of clubs logging into the game used to decide which clubs are active), and could therefore only delete 90.000 teams, instead of an estimated amount of roughly 150.000. This season all the extra teams from last season are in the bunch.
2) Advertising. We have for the past 4 months only advertised for 25% of the amount we use to spend, this is mainly because of various server moves, and introduction of new engines etc. As a result we have only gotten 90.000 new users this season (which is roughly half of the usual), and last season we got roughly 120.000 (of an estimated amount of 180.000).
3) Despite of this the traffic on the TM site is still increasing (which you saw with all the performance problems this season). And a manager in tm is now roughly 20% more active than 9 months ago.

When this is said, we are still sad to see so many teams drop out and its a problem in the newer divisions especially. So we done several things to get new players more into the game, like new squad page, new training page, (new transfer list on its way), improved manual functions. We still have features on its way with easier team creation and faster kicking of teams who only logged in once.

Another season update is getting ominously close. It will go ahead on Monday the 1st of March. The site will most likely go off line at around 9:00 am (tm time).
Here\'s the schedule as things appear at this time.
The week leading up to the update goes like this:
- On Monday inactive teams are marked for all to see.
- On Wednesday the last round of league games is played.
- On Thursday the draw for the 1st division qualification matches is performed. Also, the NT Sale is started by national team players from banned and inactive teams being put on the transfer list with deadlines expiring all through the weekend;
** Youngsters (age less than 18) is included if and only if they\'ve had at least one official appearance on the national team.
** The maximum age for nt rescue is 30 (included.)
** Players from \'available\'/\'pending approval\' teams are not saved.
- On Friday division qualification matches are played.
- On Saturday the NT Sale starts.
- On Sunday the NT Sale ends.
The season update process will commence on Monday where the site will be closed (and transfer deadlines postponed accordingly.)
During the season update the following things are done:
- Player awards, top goal scorer, MVP and U21-MVP, are handed out.
- Player stats are saved.
- Players who have announced retirement retire and old players who will retire after next season announce retirement. Players start considering retirement at 32, while keepers consider it after they turn 33.
- Player injuries are reduced by 2-4 matches depending on med center and luck.
- Player bans are left as they are, but any surplus yellow cards, which do not amount to a full one-day ban, are deleted.
- Club stats are saved.
- League and national cup trophies are handed out.
- League and national cup bonus is handed out.
- Inactive and banned teams are deleted.
- Promotion and relegation is handled.
- League, international cup and NT matches are laid out.
- PMs which are more than 3 seasons old are deleted.
- Next season’s national stadias are decided. Capacity as well as facilities count.
- Youths which have not been drafted from the academy and who have turned 18 are deleted.
- NT coefficients are updated.
- The draw for next season’s NT tournament(s) is performed.
- International club coefficients are updated.
- The draw for next season’s international club tournaments is performed.
- Match reports are converted to a less space consuming historic format.
- Clubs with too few players in their squad receive \"crappy\" players to meet the minimum required, which is 20.

At last the grand stats rebuild have finished.
Please note, however, that 1: Stats for players transferred during this season are still incomplete. That will be solved shortly. And 2: Stats from Sunday are being added over the coming hours. So hold your fire if, say, a goal or something from the last match is missing.
Now, with 10 mio+ records of stats, it\'s not easy to verify that everything is correct. So, post any issues (short of those mentioned above) you might know of here.

We have updated the Fita License so it now works properly again. We have also added a box for it at the clubhouse for all clubs who has not completed the license yet.
Futhermore we have made updates to all help entries. The userguide will soon link to an index page of all the help entries and furthermore we intend to add a search function within it for easier navigation.
The old user guide will soon be removed, however all content is is the new one so don\'t worry.
NB! Please note that not all help entries might be updatet yet for every language. Uk should be though.

Current things have been changed:
16% more goals getting the average goals in the most equal first divisions up to 2,5 roughly (like real life).
Fixed the injury bug, now giving all players the correct chance of getting injured.

First, don\'t be alarmed by the new column showing only zeros on GKs profile page. That\'ll fix along with the process below.
Second, I\'ve been struggling a bit with rebuilding player stats.
Short version: It will be solved. Perhaps (worst case) not until after the last matches of the season.
Longer version: The process to rebuild stats works by traversing every single match of the season (almost 6 million, atm) and making resulting inserts and updates to a table that reaches 10 million at the end of the process. With such a heavy workload the process takes more than 24 hours, thus colliding with the backup (not good, as you may know) and more matches starting to generate. The latter is solved. It\'s the former that I\'m mulling over now :) As mentioned above, there\'s a chance that this wont be completed until after the last matches of the season. But I haven\'t given up on a solution yet. So stay tuned.

we\'ve made improvements to how the daily backup is taken. However, approximately 04:30 TM Time --> 06:00 TM Time (i.e. when the backup runs), now officially has \'reduced service\'; This means, you might be able to browse the site, but you shouldn\'t count on it. Further, I\'ve taken steps to make sure transfers don\'t expire in that time frame.
Finally, thanks to extensive logging, the doubled cash updates mentioned in the link above has been fixed.

As you have no doubt noticed we\'re struggling a bit during our daily backup from approximately 4:30-6:30 TM Time. On a related note, a few transfers has gone through twice as a result of the above. This should now be fixed. You can check that by looking at your transfer finances for the season. NOT - I repeat: NOT in your \'this week/last week\' figures.

After several requests to have such a feature, from both Thomas, Daniel and me. We decided to make it.
As you can read on the page, basically there is a lot of stuff we would really like to have on TM to make the game even better, but which we cannot afford. So for all those rich kids, there is now a chance to help us get it by donating for specific purposes. The projects will be started when the fees are met and will get very high priority.

After handling ban appeals from several of the clubs implicated in the case mentioned yesterday. Tla3kom has been reinstated in the game teamster team (if he still wants).
It appears he DID report the diamond gift and that the TM Team Screened the card for fraud before telling him it was okay. At the time of the diamond gift he had currently 600 TM PRO days, bought with his OWN money.
Tla3kom has been a HUGE asset for the game teamster team and we are happy he did what people recieving huge gifts should do, report it and hear if its normal.
The error was completely on the MT team in this case (combined with unfortunate events), and I am VERY sorry that he had to go through this step. I hope you will all welcome him back and rest assured he is completely cleared of suspicion.

Since I never get to post an announcement, I thought I should do it now... We\'ve added a few new pictures on the league table and squad, as well as fixed a bug that caused red cards not to be displayed on subs and stars not to be displayed on players in the tactics element. That is all.
