This is the TM "Getting started" page. This page is like a FAQ. Here you can find the answers to some of the most basic questions you might have about TM.
No. Matches are played automatically.
Matches are played each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Each country has an individual game time. See the weekly schedule in your clubhouse for game times.
As mentioned there are 3 weekly league matches in TM. They are played on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. In addition if your team is in the national cup you play cup matches on Monday. In the late stages of the cup tournament matches are played both Mondays and Thursdays.
You cannot influence the match as it is being played. Your job is to choose the line-up, formation and tactics of your team before the game.
You can watch your games live but also see them after they have finished. There is a link to all your recent matches at the clubhouse weekly schedule. You can also access the games via the league page or via 'Clubhouse' -> 'Fixtures'.
Trophy Manager bases its match generation on the players' individual abilities, not some bulked skill totals. This means that your players will use the skills required in each specific match situation, and that more able players won't make less able players play better. In Trophy Manager your team is no stronger than its weakest link.
Whenever a league is created all the matches up until the time of creation are simply counted as if they had ended 0-0.
Go to "Line-up" via the top menu and drag-and-drop players onto the field.
Trophy Manager has a function called the automatic assistant coach. The automatic assistant coach is your assistant, and he makes decisions regarding your line-up when you are not around to do so. In other words you wont be left trailing in your league with 9 players in your line-up, if you don't log into TM more than twice a week - The assistant assures that you can lower your level of activity without being hit too hard.
Whenever your team suffers from bans and injuries and you do not log in, the assistant will help you refill your line-up with somewhat able players. The assistant is equally likely to choose players with a high value and players with key skills - most of the time he just makes darn bad decisions...
On Monday your finances are updated and you play national cup matches if you are still in the tournament. On Tuesday your players get the weekly training update and receive their skill changes for the week. Wednesday sees you play a league match. On Thursday friendlies are played. On Friday you play another league match. On Saturday you can promote a player or players from your youth set-up. Finally on Sunday you play yet another league match.
Trophy Manager is based on the idea that an online football manager game can have more than one games per week. We felt that other games was going too slow, and have started out with three games a week. This may seem a bit much, but we have also made an automatic assistant coach, who will refill your line-up with able players if you fail to login three times a week.
We want everyone, including people who haven't got loads of time, to be able to experience TM, and that is why we are always trying to make the game as convenient for "casual" players as we possibly can. The relatively short TM season (12 weeks) has also got advantages - if you are having a bad season it won't be as long before you can start a new...
When nobody logs in for 8 weeks in a row the team has its status set to 'inactive', which means that it will be deleted at the end of the season.
Players are trained automatically every Tuesday. We wanted to make a training simulation that is detailed but at the same time still easy to use, so we opted for a weekly training summary, performed on Tuesdays.
Yes, players who are injured on Tuesdays do still receive skill points from training.
You can hire coaches via 'Training' -> 'Staff' in the top menu.
No, players who do not play train just as much as players who get to play in matches. The only thing your players gain from participating in league and cup matches is routine.
Players who gain a skill level in training receive a light green box on their skill. If it is dark green it means that this skill was improved but not enough to gain a skill rise. Player who lose a skill level receive red boxes accordingly.
It is very tempting to buy players from the transfer list very soon after you start playing TM. However it is difficult to distinguish the good players from the bad when you have little experience with Trophy Manager. We recommend that you ask questions at the TM Forum and follow the transfer market without buying any players for a while until you know which system your team will be playing, and where the weak spots of your team are.
It very simple to delete your TM account. If you do nothing for 8 weeks your team will be shifted to "inactive" status and will be deleted during the following season break.
There are two places to look for help in Trophy Manager. If you want to read more about the game search the site for the question marks. This will take you to all the user guide entries. You can also find the user guide at 'Community' -> 'User Guide'. If you have specific questions about the game, you can ask them at the TM Forum.
