But, we're going to run a series of awards for Irish managers on the site with nominations by category between now and the end of the season.

So, we start with nominations in this thread, then we'll set up some polls on the site where you can vote for your favourite manager (or player).

Story of the Season - I know I'm writing about it every week but the topsy-turvy nature of the LOI is like nothing I've ever seen before. And it's less controversial than the other story I thought of!

On the hall of fame one, can I just suggest multiple inductions for this season? Say ten this season then two per season by vote after that...

Ireland NT Player of the Season?

Maybe an award for international manager of the season would be worthwhile, especially with the world cup on...

I do think an award for youth players would be good, one's that have broken into the first teams and played well at they clubs they were pulled in originally. I know it sounds like a narrow field but I think there would be a hatful of nominees, and it means that less skillful players in lower divisions would have as good a chance of winning it...

Cavan Celtic. Divisuon 2.1 is often regarded as the toughest Group in Division 2 and Cavan has been a front runner this season after finishing 13th last year (a position that would see him relegated this time around). It's been a top performance.

Dunno if people will agree with the legitimacy of this nomination but I'm going for B Le Sharks. The B Teams are new clubs and are therefore newly managed (the B Teams manager could be considered an alter ego). Anyhoo, B Le Sharks are the only B Team that can hold their head high in Division 4.

AC Pool (riches to rags). Here's a club who was started in TM by a mate of mine around the same time as my team was formed. He's challenged for the title in each of his three seasons in the second Division, and if he succeeds in finally gaining promotion this year it will surely be done as an inactive team. He fell out of love with this game, no longer logs in and says he doesn't expect to come back.

Thanks Stan Fran - must say it could have been another story had you derailed our chances last week - you were unlucky as my goalie played a 10 and you missed a penalty as we held on for a 1-0 win - definitely shows the value of a good keeper with high routine and winning when your playing bad.

Hope to come back with some nominees who haven't been mentioned yet although I back Real Cymru for best logo.

How about an overall one as well as a divisional one? LOI will probably win overall one but not always.

Lisburn gets my vote for Division one - massive improvement from relegation playoff to potential champions league place.

I'm gonna abstain from Division II :)

Greenpark Celtic is my nominee for Division III running away with their group - leading by 13 points and only one loss all season.

Le Sharks B is my nominee for Divison IV - a squad not nearly as complete as a newly generated one - amazing performance.

Dunno where to start looking in Division V maybe I'll think of someone later....keeping an eye on the cup for some possibilites.

I'm going to have to go for Shout FC here. Great first season. Really decent team. Special mention to Lisburn though.

Legless Athletic. Currently 2nd in 2.3 after coming up from my group last season. Commendable performance.

Has to be greenpark Celtic of 3.1. Anyone with a 13 point lead at this stage of the season is doing something right.

It's wrong of me but I think my FC Wenzel is in with a shout.
